I founded KRIS-T GERMAN SHEPHERDS in 1969 with the purchase of my first registered German Shepherd puppy....Kris-T's Jola v. Rogue UD. Jola was bought with the idea she would be a great show dog, but I found out, as so many do, that this was not going to be the case. However, she proved her value in teaching me about this great breed. Her intelligence and temperament were far beyond your imagination. She was truly brilliant. She completed her Companion Dog title in three straight shows, her Companion Dog Excellent title in three straight shows, and her Utility Dog title in four shows, with an average score of 194 ½ or better out of a possible total of 200 points. Jola made me a believer in the breed. I was hooked.

I owned several shepherds between Jola and my first home bred Champion, and with each one I became more knowledgeable about which bloodlines I wanted to use to set my foundation. Structure, temperament and health were as important as winning. You can't have one without the other.
